The state of Maine has long winters and lots to offer for the outdoors sportsperson.  If you like snowmobiling, ice fishing, skiing, winter camping or any winter activity then Maine is the place to be.

Our skiing page will provide you with the ski areas and resorts that you can spend time at in Maine.  We have both wonderful downhill and cross-country ski areas.  Downhill skiing in Maine is an enjoyable experience.  For those who are into fitness you will find wonderful cross country ski areas in Maine.

One of our most traditional winter past-times is ice fishing.  There are ice fishing camps, derbies, and events.

Of course, Maine, with its deep woods and long trails is the ideal place to snowmobile.  Our snowmobile page will provide you with maps and other information.

If you are looking for a unique winter experience try dogsledding.  There are a number of firms that will provide you with an educational, enjoyable, and unforgettable winter activity that few have enjoyed.

As Spring approaches many Mainers will tap trees to gather sap to make Maine maple syrup.  There are many sugar houses that will offer tours for those interested in the making of maple syrup.
