Stonington,
Maine - Quaint Maine Fishing Village With a Touch of Art. This
small working fishing village is located on the southernmost tip of Deer
Isle. There are a few places to stay and eat - but make reservations
for lodging. Very quiet but picturesque village. A few small art
galleries support a small artist population.
The
Isle au Haut. This island is a boat ride south from Stonington
located on Deer Isle. There are few places to stay overnight (two inns
and a campground) so reservations are a "must". There are few places
to eat - so bringing food or eating at the inn you are staying at is the
food option. But this island is well worth the trip!
